The fit folks at Jazzercise have denied a big woman's request to be an instructor. Interesting case. What is the goal of fitness? Being healthy or being thin? I’ve met gorgeous models who live on cigarettes and coffee. We *say* we hate people who are thin without trying, but we really harbor negative feelings toward the overweight people. I hope that ‘body size pride’ gains momentum. Because the prejudice is out there as strong as any skin color or sexual lifestyle bigotry. And becasue of the perception of "choice" in the matter, I think it can be even more cruel. It allows the prejudice to infiltrate liberal minds.

I helped get my grandpa moved into his new place last night (He was movedi n 2 days after my grandma). I got his computer setup so he could get/send email. But I gave him a surprise. I can't vouch for the historical acuracy of its Cuban Missle Crisis portrayal...but it certainly gave me an appreciation for the office of the presidency. Happy Love Day! Some people take this day to stew on the fact that they don't have a "special someone" to focuss their love on. I urge you to use this day as an excuse to expand your love. Use it as a reminder that love is not a finite resource. You can extend love to many, many people without ever running out. Does a mother of 6 love her children less than a mother of two? So, on this day I will shower love upon my special someone. But I will also send love out towards every person I care about. And I'll try to extend love towards all the people I don't yet know. 2.11.2002 Another beautiful day in San Diego. I've been outside naked in the sun every day for the past week. Not all day, mind you...but at least for a meal, phone call or book chapter. I did make it to the local nude beach on friday. I love being naked outside, but there is something different about being naked by the ocean. Something awe-inspiring. The sea feels so alive. Its a wet living mass of pure nature. So are we. Just a much, much smaller version.

I played drawing games with my brother, Daizy, and Dlove last night. Nothing like creative bursts to fight off a funk. We played one game wher you would write down a fictional band name and album title. Then we traded papers and tried to draw what the CD cover would look like. Man, paying taxes sucks. Not the concept, the activity. I'm struggling through TurboTax Web right now. It looks like I owe $200. Even though I have $0 in taxable income. See, the $4000 I made last year was consulting. So I owe a small business tax, even though I didn't make enough to owe income tax. *sigh* I guess I need to go back and look at the "business expeneses" I incurred durring 2001.

Some neat family time this weekend. It was my Mom's birthday on Saturday. All three of her brothers were in town to help aid my grandmother's fight with Leukemia. For a wonderful morning, all the siblings were together. Its a good family and I'm proud to be a part.

Superbowl Wrapup: The mlife umbilical cord /wireless ad was good. The Pepsi Britney ads were nice, but not really my style. I was impressed that as soon as it was over, you could replay it on Yahoo.com The chimp Etrade musical was great. The half time musical performance made me weep: U2 did “Where The Streets Have No Name” as the names of the 9-11 victims scrolled on a HUGE screen. The half-time Playboy Bunny Fear Factor (on a different channel) was about as far opposite the U2 tribute as is possible. But I gotta admit: Scared hot chicks with big boobs in swimsuits….It’s a rock-solid formula.

I saw an amazing one man show of "MacHomer: The Simpsons Do MacBeth." The guy who did the show was amazing. GREAT impressions and a funny script.
