End of the year is a crazy time. I should probably glow in the memories of the year more (instead of seeing Jan 1 as some sort of pressure-inducing deadline.) 2002 means moving out of TheRealHouse. It means (according to my budget) my savings run out. It means I need to write that book. But I wonder how much energy should be put into planning for the new year? I mean, this year was full of things I could never plan for. I ride this fine line of ambition and faith in the universe.

12.25.2001 Kaya and I continued our twisted "Letter to Santa" tradition.

What a Xmas!!! Last night we sang "Little Drummer Boy" in the Jacuzi under the stars. Grandpa was belting out "PA RUM PA PUM PUMMM!!!!" as my brother played along on his bongo. It was divine. Today it was stockings and presents at MIssM's family. Then at mine. Man...we got more loot than we have room for. Highlights: Fur pants made by Grandma. A Jigsaw. The "Free To Be You And Me" DVD. An Electric Blanket. A stuffed monkey customized with white leather chaps and hair nubs.

12.23.2001 Happy Xmas Eve!! This week's Tale is a Prehensile Xmas tradition (Kinda like Cornelius and the Gay Dentist Elf): From another old tale: Top Things to do this Holiday Season: 1. Tease kids who have to go to school during their religious holidays. 2. Don gay apparel. 3. Try telling a cop, "actually, the pipe is for my snowman." 4. Ponder eggnog. (they should call it "flegmnogg") 5. Punch anyone who says, "Like a Lightbulb!" while singing Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer. 6. Play dreidel drinking games. 7.Run around and play TRON on a street with lots of X-mas lights. 8.Say, "Mmm, mmm, fruitcake!" whevever you pass gas. 9. Walk around the house wearing nothing but tinsel. 10. Adopt all the sick dogs from the Humane Society and give them as gifts. 11. Sculpt Nativity Scenes out of lunchmeats. 12. Make a gingerbreak crackhouse. 13. Think up holiday-themed names for your genitalia like: Yule Log, Santa's Little Helper, Pubic Wreath, or stocking stuffer.

12.21.2001 Ben Brown and his wonderful wife, Ani, are in town. We all went dancing last night for Jen's Bday. Then they spent the night and showered on cam. Yay!

12.20.2001 The church I go to has limited parking. And there isn't even a lot nearby you can park in and walk. So last night I drove to church, circled the parking lot a few times (along with a handful of other space scavenging vulture vehicles) then went home. It was a bit of a bummer. I've been feeling I needed spiritual grounding. hmmm. Maybe I wasn't ready to hear what was said last night. Especially if that message was "Don't drink beer for breakfast."

I haven't been positng much. But my brain has been going crazy. I'm out of my funk and fired up about a plan for CX's evolution. Enjoyed a night of tree-trimming and family last night. At one point, Daizy (Kaya's GF) asked, "Is that enough lights? Or should we go Vegas-style?" The room replied in unison, "Vegas, baby!"
