To give you an idea of how much Burning Man impacts my life, check out how we're trying to make TheRealHouse embrace aspects of the Playa.

I'm making a Burning Man 2001 soundtrack CD. When its done, i'm hitting "copy" and heading to bed.
In the morning, we pack our truck, then hit the road. I'm very excited. :)

8.23.2001

Yesterday's radio show is online.

Moslems go to Mecca...Artists go to Burning Man. And if you don't see yourself as an artist, you will after going.

FINALLY a product to save me the inconveniece of hanging up the phone.

8.22.2001

The "Behind the Website" parody is finally online!!!!
click on the "CockyBastard: Year in Review" link.

The stockings are hung by the chimney with care in hopes that St. Burning Man soon will be there...

I made a paper 'zine to bring to the playa. 40 pages of Tales and wrds in the style of my old Prehensile Tales 'zine. I figure, as long as I'm groovin' on this non-digital kick...

Tonight's RealHouseTV episode includes last night's pre-Burning Man fashion show and an adventure in arts and crafts. Stop in at 8pm for the premiere (or catch it any time this week.) If you want to see this week's episode (of Housemate Burning Man stories) make sure you watch before 8 tonight.

8.19.2001

I'm trying to make a word doc out of all my archived wrds pieces. Anyone know an easy way to do that? Or anyone want to help me out with a few hours of copying and pasting? :)
UPDATE: got it done thanks to ShinyHappyGirl. THANK YOU!!

Today I get a new roomate! It's kinda like waiting for Mom to come home form the hospital with a baby brother. Except, (god-willing) Rob will be coming from the airport, not a hospital. Although, I suppose the stork metaphor isn't too far off.

David Hudsen is brilliant and I'm so glad people like him are out there watching the world.
"All even the most ruthless CEO wants, nevermind the straight and narrow ones, is as much money as he can get his hands on and all even the most cynical office-holder wants is for some of that money to ensure his reelection. It's all very short-term, immediate-gratification stuff and none of them truly means any harm on a worldwide scale, so the assumption goes, and there is no one person or definable body behind the curtain."

Stumbled on the old legal document of when I had the altercation with Fruit of the Loom over the Tale, "Meat of the Loom.". ( Quick overview: They served me a cease and desist, The web fought back, they backed down)

It was fun to read the old emails with the lawer and revisit the skidmarks. heh.

I'm now a contributer to the top ten blog! :)

Another coloborative thing that I think is AMAZING is Photoshop Tennis @ www.coudal.com

8.18.2001

This group "top ten list" blog is pretty darn funny. The "worst reasons to get a pet" killed me.

doh! Hmmm. We're supposed to load up ALL of our Burning Man gear tomorrow (costumes, food, etc.) so that we can make sure it will fit in the truck we're taking. BUt we have a fashion show scheduled Sunday night. Arg!

8.17.2001

Nice story in Tara's weblog today.

I added a new wrds about my dad.

MissM and I did 12 loads of laundry last night. It was my first time at a laundromat. I am now truly a liberated man.

8.16.2001

Last night's radio show is now online.

Wanna make fun of the way I dress? I'm the subject of this week's photo caption contest at collegeclub.com.

8.15.2001

Want to see the Fray Day 5 postcards that use an illustration of mine? Better yet, want to help get them printed!? Rack up some Karma points and help out!

Radio show today at 5: radio.cockybastard.com
topic: Burning Man Fashions (with webcam fashion show) and College Poetry.

A more involved fashion show will be in TheRealHouse this Sunday night.

8.14.2001

These telemarketer pranks had me laughing out loud.

ha! Jacob wrote about the perils of working naked...and the EXACT same thing happened to me today...except it was a UPS guy.

Woe is me!!! I can't find my blue tutu or my white fur pants!!! *gasp*

I stumbled upon an old prehensile.com design. Kinda fun. I hope to get back in a 'Tale of the Week' groove when I return from Burning Man. Then again, Burning Man has a way of drastically changing life perspectives. Maybe I'll return and join the Coast Guard...or become a school bus driver. Or maybe I'll write that book.

8.12.2001

Holy moly...I am in a Burning Man crafting ZONE. I glued some glowing El-wire to my winged helmet...I am feeling pretty smug.

8.10.2001

If you are ever killing time between 11:00 and 11:30 on a weekday, stop by and visit me.

I have been in a non-digital artistic frenzy. In addition to the Lustmonkey sign, I created a series of multimedia epitaths for MissM's Playa Cemetary last night. And I contributed a drawing for Fray Day 5. Wow! There *is* such a thing as non-pixelated art!

8.9.2001

Spent the day in Burning Man prep. Buying Glue sticks for my glue gun (the only gun I own) and painting a sign for the Lustmonkeys. The painting was done naked...the shopping required clothes.

I had a blast on the radio show. Man, I enjoy doing that.

8.8.2001

Radio show today! 5pm Pacific topic: Burning Man prep and general sexual nonsense.

I just finished cutting out a "LUSTMONKEY" sign with a jigsaw. Man, I am SUCH the crafty guy. I just kept repeating: "don'tcutyourselfdon'tcutyourself..."

8.6.2001

The Dateline story of another couple's attempt at living in public.

8.5.2001

I finally read Girl in Hyacinth Blue which was written by my high school creative writing teacher. I remember being inspired by her sense of freedom. She told us stories about living life...I think I remember something about sex in a snow grooming machine. The book was excellent.

I also just read Nymphomation, which was awesome...but not as good as Vurt.

8.4.2001

Last night we had a bonfire/memorial for Paul. It was good. I brought a piece of wood, lit it in the fire, then extinguished it in the ocean. I plan on bringing it to the Playa and throwing it into the fire the night of the Burn.

Then MissM and I came home and tried on outfits to see how much more glue-gunning is needed.

Here's another person's account of the Lifestyles convention.

8.3.2001

Just had lunch with Dlove. I've known him since before I knew how to masturbate. I'm so glad I live in the city I grew up in and have had ages to develop friendships with a few special people. I've never really had to move alot and start new lives with new friends. Not sure how much I would like that. I do know I like this.

heh...the Nerve.com position of the day is called "The Ikea Sale."

8.2.2001

Globalgasm was very cool for me. Lots of online participants...and then new Housemate ManBoy let loose a fog machine in the house to make things completely surreal.

8.1.2001

Tonight is Globalgasm! Masturbate or have sex with a partner tonight with Global consciousness in mind.

Pictures from the Webby's, tooling around San Francisco, and A Day in The Life of a Cocky Bastard. Yea!

I feel blessed that I got to meet you, Paul.

MTV turns 20 today. I remember seeing it for the first time at a friend's house in Colorado during a ski trip with my folks. I remember being glued to the screen. I remember that colorized moon man planting the MTV flag...and all the other awesome mtv promos that they played between videos. Now MTV seems devoid of both the video art and the music videos.
I wonder at what point I started preferring VH1?
