I'm moving my domain...I hope that's the reaon why cockybastard is down right now.
The very cool Tattoo Doll Project reminds me of my very own tattoo doll.
Threw together a personal portal at halcyon.styn.net
An email from Kaya:
My brother rules. He just left me a voicemail that was so cool. He said he read my blog and, "…wanted to talk. That’s heavy stuff. I send you a big hug….I'm glad to hear you’re doing some exploring."
He recognizes the value of down times. And he always encourages me (gently) to see my downtimes as opportunities to grow.
Spent the morning reading "Chicken Soup for the Soul." Cried about 8 times. With this kinda summer heat, a cold beer really sounds better than chicken soup.
I found
some
gems while checking out Google's new image search engine.
Posted a new wrds. Kinda long and a bit heavy on the self-pity (which seems to happen when I'm in a funk.)
I'm preparing my first HTML email to be sent to the citizenX community. I know, HTML emails are evil...but for some things (like my monthly MAXIM update) I like them.
radio show today at 5. Topic: Food and Sex
I asked Leilani to move out of the RealHouse weeks ago. Then I found out Flare is moving out. BoBo is now considering moving out, too. Is the project salvagable? Not sure.
Do you ever feel like the anti-Midas?
I'm setting up all sorts of domain info and email stuff at Dreamhost. So far I like them. If anyone has time to test the loading of a site, can you hit SelfProclaimedGenius.com? Some people were reporting that it didn't load up. I want to see if my changes helped. lemmie know
SOULstice pics:
SOULstice last night was awesome. It was 75 degrees all night. I wore a tutu, vibrating fur jock strap and no shirt all night. There's something magical about warm night-time wind. I stayed up all night dancing and watched the sun rise. It was a wonderful gathering with a very Burning man feel. I kept saying, "This feels like home."
It also reminded me of what 100+ deperatures are like. BM has been lacking them the last few years and I was getting used to packing my (flamboyant) arctic wear.
Fontalicious is the most entertaining font site. Read the copy. Brilliant.
Kelly posted some fun new pics from the house:
I'm heading to a desert gathering tonight called SOULstice. Sort of a more intimate version of Burning Man. I'm packing up pink fur and water. The high/low temperatures today are forcasted at 109/77. gulp Perhaps naked with a little glitter is a more appropriate costume.
"If being an egomaniac means I believe in what I do and in my art or music, then in that respect you can call me that ... I believe in what I do, and I'll say it."
I was listening to the radio show from this week. I was laughing out loud at times.
“Sammy Hagar sucks. Can’t drive 55? Can’t do the splits like David Lee Roth, either!”
Then Kaya called in halfway through:
Summer is here! Hope your solstice was lovely yesterday. Perhaps that explains the hotpants?
Is it madness that makes a man try on his girlfriend's satin hot pants and dance around the room? What if he was the one that bought the hotpants? What if, deep down, he wasn't really sure who he bought the hot pants for?
Today's Radio show is online. As normal, Kaya's call shows how much more funny he is than me.
gonna try to do the radio show poolside today! I've got the laptop out there so I can see the chatroom. Clothing optional.
Radio Show today at 5. Topic: Weird foods we've eaten here or abroad. I'll tell you my sheep brain story if you tell me your's...
Did you notice the symbol for Spot Boot Controls below? Yup, its a Viking helmet. I've been waiting years to use that icon.
Always nice to see another quality bastard out there.
JG and I have launched a new "CXTools" option on CitizenX. For $5/month, you can get the Spot Boot Controls and other stuff that CLubCX had...but without TheRealHouse Cams.
Also: inspired by the AWESOME Diaryland.com, we're giving banners to everyone who pre-pays CXTools for a year.
My roomate, Flare, took some cool pictures of our house.
On my way to a nude beach last month, I was thinking how ridiculous it is that being naked is illegal. We're encouraged to cover ourselves in advertising slogans and designer commerce coverings...but a pure human body is illegal. WTF!?
Nudity should be protected under "Freedom of Religion."
Turns out more people believe in the freedom of the body. (via metafilter)
Posted some new wrds
When I look at the world around,
Oh. My. cockykitty.com is digital catnip. Nice job, Pam!!
Don't miss the kitty hat shuffle
Kaya is back from another trip with more funny stories.
In San Diego tonight? My friends at GET-M are throwing a wine-tasting fundraiser at La Provance (4th and G). The amazing Valerie and the Vibe Tribe will be there, too.
Yesterday I bought a dixie cup of lemonade for $.25. ALWAYS buy lemonade from kids on the corner. That's a rule you can live by.
I'm really grateful for it all. Sometimes I get overwhelmed. Sometimes I am dumbstruck with awe. Usually I am too micro-focussed to take a step back and marvel. But the truth is, I feel truly lucky.
Jacob said in his lecture this week that we should consider ourselves "gifted." He asked us to say aloud, "I AM GIFTED."
And celebrate those gifts. Suppose someone gave you a new shirt. Then while you were out about town another person said, "nice shirt!" If you say, "What? This ol' rag?" then you are being insulting to the gift giver. The same is true with your goddess/universe-given talents and abilities. To downplay your gifts is to insult god. Celebrating yourself is NOT a selfish act. It is being grateful for the gifts given to you. This life is a gift. Do not apologize for it or downplay the miracle that is you.

Yesterday I met with each of my roomates and talked to them about the upcoming "Season Two" at TheRealHouse.com. I had to tell one of them that they will not be invited back. I tried to explain my decision in a new "wrds" post.
btw: TheRealHouse homepage has become quite an active little group blog.
Jacob (whose lectures I go to every wed.) finally has a sample talk up on MP3.com. The sound quality isn't great, but you can get an idea of what my idea of church is.
Pics of MissM and I @ Black's Beach.
A few pics from our Burning Man camp fundraiser we threw this weekend.
Heather's wonderful collection of reflections is relaunched as The Mirror Project. I've submitted a few over the years.
Gonna be in San Diego this weekend? The lustmonkeys are having a blacklit Burning Man fundraising party on Saturday night. 4th and G at La Provance in the Gaslamp. You're invited.
Arg. Flare's car broke down and cemented me in the driveway early in the week. Now the car is fixed (YAY!) but I've lost my keys. Perhaps the universe is telling me to walk.
Went to see Jacob's lecture last night and felt ecouraged about my current path. Had drinks with good people (including Barbarella) afterwards. Good times. Good times.
I uploaded a lecture of Jacob's to MP3.com, hopefully it will be approved soon so you can see what I do every Wednesday after my radio show and HugNation.
Radio Show today at 5. Hug at 6.
Show topic: I've been in theRealHouse 8 months. Its time to do what I've said i would do. "Season Two" will begin July 1 and ask for a greater commitment from all the housemates. (In fact, they might not all be invited back.) I invite everyone to put together a list of mid-year goals to motivate them through the end of the year. Call in with your goals or reccommendations for House goals.
I shaved my legs this afternoon. Well, trimmed, actually. With clippers.
It was like a summer molting thing. It was simply too hot to live as a Wookie. I nned to adapt Now it feels really wierd to walk in pants.
And in case I haven't mentioned lately. My body hair is the thing of myths.
posted another wrds about the importance of critical thought. Part of what made me think about that is a current message board started by someone who is CONVINCED I am behind the Kaycee hoax. Contrary thought is good. We just need to remember to maintain a respectful dialogue.
I'm getting ready to commit more to TheRealHouse as an art project. I wrote about the plans in "wrds" I'm nervous and excited. I invite everyone to take this time to commit more to their lives and passions, too.
I've released a beta version of a site I've been working on the last few months: SelfProclaimedGenius.com. It's for a friend of mine that easily fits the "cocky bastard" category. If you have time to check it out and give feedback, I'd be most grateful.
I guess I'm feeling pink.
Lance Arthur is the winner of the HugNation logo contest! Next hug: Wed @ 6!
