5.30.2000

Ben Brown gives away all my secrets in, "How to become an Internet Rockstar."

Finally the truth is out about Me and Marge.

I had a vision last night of a cockybastard-mobile.
It would be baby blue, with white fur interior. I'm not sure what kind of car it would be.

Made a couple buttons this morning:

5.29.2000

Thank you, Veterans. Thank you.

I'm mentioned in an article on Personal Sites and the Webbies.

Finally got this week's Tale up. It's yet another look at "The Hedgehog." Hope ya enjoy, "Let's Talk about Ron Jeremy" (18+ please)

5.28.2000

I am filled to the brim with birthday love.

My friends, my life, my connections to the miracles around me...I feel so blessed.

If there is an afterworld...I hope it's a lot like this.

I was moved to tears this morning while reading email. Thank you for all the positivity. I feel like there is so much love coming at me through the wires that my body must be glowing. Jan's gift made me smile so big, I think I pulled a cheek muscle.

5.27.2000

Karyn made an adorable birthday greeting gif (500k)

Having a little shindig tonight to celebrate my Birthday. Feel free to drop by.

Ugh. My computer is giving me challenges. I wish there was a human element to computers. That I way I could bully the little shit around. Ya, know, intimidate him with my larger size. Flex my muscles...that kinda thing. Instead, I have to keep rebooting and hope the little bugger gets the point. *sigh*

5.24.2000

Shit, man! Lancelog2000 is a new blog from Lance Arthur. What a treat!

I divide people into catagories. Those that know glassdog.com and those that don't. Anyone in the latter catagory that tries to act like an internet authority had best hit the browser for a few hours before I'm gonna listen to them.

There's new photo captions and a nice pic of me scratching myself at teacosy.net.

Working from home has 1 major drawback. All the negative feelings you have about your office, you start to project on to your home.

I think the adrenaline from the webbies has finally worn off. I haven't won a major award in several days and I'm starting to miss the rush. Maybe I'll start robbing banks.

5.23.2000

Tee, hee! If you're over 18, play Meteorologist or porn star

I got asked to do a online radio call-in show. But it won't work if people don't call in. What time of day would make it easiest for you to call in?
Noon (PST)
5pm (PST)
Don't see a fitting response? Add One:

Today is Dmitry's birthday. So he's having a real life/online party on citizenX.com tonight. You're invited.

So, um, how come nobody told me that I spelled "bithday" wrong in my b-day card for Kaya? Me not so always good with English.

5.22.2000

The Tale of the Week is a pair of interviews.

I made a Flash birthday card for Kaya using a picture from supersnail.com

Kaya is 27.
Hooray!
CaptainKaya@HighSchoolClub.com

5.20.2000

Yay! Promote positivity!!! I'm a huge fan of non-negative blogging

5.19.2000

So I've been invited to host a weekly call-in radio show on IMG2.com. Should I do it? Would you call in? And when should I do it? What day of the week? What time?

Just finished the interview. What a hoot! It's archived (but you better turn up the volume.)

5.18.2000

Holy crud. Tomorrow morning I'm doing a phone interview with USA Today. Then at 3pm in the afternoon, I'm doing a LIVE STREAMING phone interview on IMG2.com. Come by and listen! (You need Windows Media Player.)

What do Elian, Aquaman, and Halcyon have in common? They all like chillin, havin' a bud.

5.17.2000

For the extremely bored: random shots of ME!

In a few minutes I'll begin a month leave of absence from my job.

The Webbies have left me so full of fire...I can't sit still. I gotta FLY.

Speaking of personal sites that inspire me...

Justin got to party at the playboy mansion.

Jason's prepared 5 words were amazingly similar to mine. I *tried* to involve the crowd in a game of chardaes. He was going to tell an interactive knock-knock joke.
Did I mention how proud I was to be nominated alongside him? I'm just lucky he's above posting nude photos of himself.

Jeffrey got interviewed by Slashdot.

And can anyone forward me a copy of Lance's last "memo." that would be most appreciated.

5.16.2000

Finally got my Webbies reflections online. With links to pictures, too. (And, yes, it counts as the Tale of the Week.)

Happy birthday, Derek! You are an inspiration.

((hug))

5.15.2000

The only press who "got" that I was playing charades was wired news: "Personal site winner CockyBastard won a few new fans with his speech, a game of charades with the crowd that spelled out 'Feel the love.'"

Oh, man. The Champ Chaos folks had me laughing aloud with their Metallica vs. Napster animation.

5.14.2000

Ack. So I didn't finish the Tale in time for Monday. I suck.

Did I mention it's been a crazy few days? Forgive me.

I have some really cool pics that I want to post from the Webbies along with some reflections and stories. Like how I told Webby founder Tiffany Shlain that I was going to win a Webby...the day before they announced that I was even nominated. She didn't know who I was and said, "That's a pretty cocky attitude."
Heh.

In the meantime, check out the cool animation Karyn made from Webby screenshots.(170k)

I made this for my Mom last year. She's so awesome.

I love this T-Shirt: "START A REVOLUTION...STOP HATING YOUR BODY."

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!
I wish I could be a mother. Mothers truly are the miracle makers.

Jan has helped break down the webby telecast so you can find the "Halcyon Highlights"

Media Player version of the Webby's broadcast (bigger video)

Real Player version of the Webby's broadcast

So that you can jump right to the important stuff, the times are as follows:

Preshow interview: 1:58
Award: 3:26
Postshow interview: 4:37

5.13.2000

I'm getting e-mails from all over the world. I wish I could feel this way forever.
Yoni said, "Now that you have a reference point, you can always find your way back."

I'm home to San Diego. Putting out fires. I guess my email forwarding was screwy. Ech. Still floating.

5.12.2000

Tons of links to press and photos of me at the webbies on Teacosy.net

Wow.
I'm still erect.
I'm floating in the Love.
You should see the size of my grin.

I've recieved over 500 e-mails since lat night. So forgive me if I am tardy in my response. But I promise you this: I feel the love.

My brother emailed me and said that last night my dad answered the phone, "Hello, my son just won a webby."
I started bawling in the middle of the Haight Street cybercafe.

I didn't have enough words to say it last night. But I'll say it now: Thank you Mom.
Thank you Dad.
Thank you Kaya.

Thank you for always being supportive. Thank you for helping me believe in myself. Thanks for never making me feel like this was a silly use of my time...even when I quit my path towards grad school to go back to Junior college and make a little zine called "Prehensile Tales."
You were always supportive.
Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. I love you.
[I can't stop crying.] And to anyone who's ever sent me an e-mail of support, that goes for you , too. THANK YOU.

I won.

Ever feel that life is magical?
Ever become almost scared by life's possibilities?
Ever feel like your teetering on bursting into tears of joy?
I am so overwhelmed right now.
So proud.
Proud to be me.

"What is cockybastard.com?" I was asked countless times last night. "What does your company do?"
"It's me."
[Puzzled look]
"Isn't that enough?"
Last night, amidst the flashbulbs and hoopla, it felt like the world was telling me, "Yes, being you is enough."

5.11.2000

I'm picking out an outfit and heading up to San Fran for the Webbies. Last minute I decided against the fur pants. It'll be broadcast through Yahoo tonight at 8, I think. But if you want to watch, make sure you have the software

5.10.2000

Here's some pics of Kaya and I at work on "Dress like you did in High School Day."

I want this Wrist Camera sooooo bad.

5.9.2000

Newcity.com, a sponsor of the webbies, says jason is a lock-down for best personal site.

Would you confuse this for a Toy Company? Yet Mattel they served him a cease and desist anyway.

5.8.2000

ech. Flight got cancelled,. so now I leave at noon (and miss a quarter of the coverence). I certainly hope that doesn't happen Thursday when I go back to SF for the Webbies.

I'm off to San Francisco for 2 days for a conference. Does it seem like I'm traveling a lot lately? Sheesh.

The Tale of the week is an invite to view my new webcam project.

5.6.2000

Our sick friends at NewGrounds.com agree with me on the Metallica situation. They're just funnier.

5.5.2000

In honor of the success of HighschoolClub.com, it is "Dress Like You Did in HighSchool" Day at my office. My brother is in his letterman's jacket. I'm wearing a pink blazer and skinny tie. Oh, and we both have our pantlegs pegged. The horror.

Happy Cinco de Mayo!

At 3am last night, I finally figured out why Metallica sueing Napster makes my stomach feel ill. So I posted my feelings in the latest wrds

This is the best butt plug review I've ever read.

5.4.2000

Don't open any email with the subject "ILOVEYOU." It's a *nasty* virus.

YIPPEE!!! The amazing Burning Man 99 photos of Supersnail.com are online. There's quite a few of me and some LustMonkeys. Well worth the wait. Julian's work is AMAZING.

5.3.2000

"Today some coworkers and I tried out a new Tai Chi restaurant. The food was great, but the service sure was slow." from The Wonderful World of Longmire

Teacosy.net has started collecting 5-word Webby acceptance speech suggestions for me. If I get lucky and win, what should I say? (The Webbies only allow you a 5 word speech)

What a ruckus that Elian "True" thing caused. Good.

Ya know, people say that a vacation rejuvenates you and gets you ready to go back to work with a renewed vigor. That is such a load of crap.
Vacation just reminds you how nice it is to lie on a beach and do nothing. In other words, I am *struggling* to get back into the swing of things. Coffee can only do so much.

Flat Eric is my favorite fuzzy puppet since Gonzo. (He's the yellow puppet in the Levi's ads.)

You can still vote for the Webbies. (I'm nominated under personal.)

5.2.2000

I'm back from Florida.
Tan. Relaxed. Tired.

This page kinda sums me up. More later.
